The best BBQ I have ever eaten
by jaybob
on January 23, 2012
I recently took my family to Christopher BBQ, and I was amazed at the quality of the food and the service I received. I had a two meat combo with baby back ribs and sausage, my wife had a brisket dinner, and my son had a pork sandwich. We all agreed that this was the best BBQ we had eaten in our lives. The portions were large, the taste was great, and the atmosphere was delightful ( they played oldies Blues music in the background). The ribs were absolutely delicious and the sausage was incredible. I got the fried potatoes and baked beans and my wife got fried okra and cole slaw for sides. The fried potatoes were great and I love their BBQ sauce. My Son raved about his pork sandwich all the way home, and my wife was so delighted with her brisket. I live in Arlington, and I believe I have found a BBQ restaurant that knows what their doing. This is a place everyone who likes BBQ should visit. A little pricey, but worth every penny.

Delicious BBQ

I would like to say for the record that this is the best BBQ I have ever eaten. I have frequented many BBQ restaurants in the Metroplex and none have impressed me like this little place in Cedar Hill. I had a two meat combo with baby back ribs and beef brisket. The ribs were meaty, tender, and you could see the smoke ring and taste the wonderful smoked flavor. The brisket was really tasty, the best I have ever had. The sauce was great, but I didn't use much because the meat was so tasty, I did not need it. I had the fried potatoes and baked beans for sides and they were delicious. The fried potatoes were really outstanding. The portions were so large, I could not eat the whole thing and had to take the remainder home in a to go bag. The place is clean, the service is great and I plan to go back with my family. I live in Ft worth, and it is worth the drive to get BBQ like this. It was a bit pricey for a BBQ place, but it was worth every penny.

Don't waste your money

I was on Christopher's website looking for good bbq. The website assured the readers that this was the place to go for delicious, authentic, fall off the bone bbq, so I drove from Mansfield to try it. I should have kept driving. Although the cashier was nice, the food was horrible! I bought 2 drinks & 2 rib dinners that consisted of sauce-less ribs(large bones, little meat), no smoke flavor and too salty. It came with brownish coleslaw, and a greasy potato and grilled onion mixture with this weird spice on it and a cup of watery ketchup, no bbq sauce! Yuk! Worst $35 bucks I ever spent. I would have returned the dinners but, I didn't want to waste anymore gas or time. Lesson learned.

Sadly, no

My husband and I ate at Christopher's tonight after hearing some good things. We were so disappointed. The prices were pretty high, but we felt that if the food was good enough, we'd tough it out.

It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food (St. Louis ribs and chicken for me...Babyback ribs and brisket for my hubby). It is a tiny place and there were only 2 people in front of us. The server was a very nice lady who came to tell me that they were out of chicken, so I went with brisket. 15 minutes later we finally got our meals. The meat was wrapped in plastic, as though they had put the meat in the microwave to heat it up. The meat was lukewarm. Neither of our ribs had much meat on them. My chicken, which they had obviously found, was extremely dry...I kind of choked trying to get it down. My husband said his brisket was passable, but one piece was all fat.

There was no appreciable smoke ring or flavor on any of the meat, although the rub used was tasty. The green beans were good, as was the cole slaw. The potato salad was obviously from a grocery store or tub, and the baked beans had lots of dill pickles and juice in them....weird.

I am quite disappointed in the taste and quality. No where NEAR the $38 we had to pay.

Nice people but not good enough...sorry. I hate giving bad reviews.

The best BBQ!

We love Christopher's BBQ! My family all enjoys the tenderness and taste. Highly recommend trying it out. We usually get the sliced brisket with several sides. We have not found any that we have not enjoyed! Highly recommend Christopher's BBQ.
