I am biased when it comes to asian/oriental food. I've had the privilege of having served most of the health inspectors in Dallas county and their families for years back when I was in the restaurant business. My conclusion from all of my conversations with them? When eating Chinese food stick to P.F. Chang's, Pei Wei and Panda Express.

I like Panda Express for what it is. Simple, quick service Chinese inspired food. The ingredients are fresh and you can see the food being prepared. Because it is a chain (and not an independent) I know that there are stringent health policies in effect that are monitored and enforced.

All that said, I'm a sucker for their orange chicken and just about anything else they serve up. I like their iced tea, their (usually) cheerful staff and a clean, simple, dining room.

Tip: Be sure to buy gift certificates for your high school/college kids. They LOVE Panda Express! (And so do I.)
