We had dinner there Friday night. I had the prime rib and it was BAD - overcooked and under seasoned. Also, a 6oz prime rib dinner for $16.95 was more than an 8oz prime rib at Saltgrass, of which I am no fan either, but Saltgrass's prime rib is vastly superior to Dick's.

Service was okay but it took until we were done with the meal to get rolls.

Dick's dinner service reminded me of dorm food, and that is not a memory I care to relive, especially at the prices they charge.

Dick's Cafe on Uptown Blvd. transforms the restaurant for Fri. and Sat. evening meals with fresh flowers, soft music, and table linens. We had plump tilapia filets, and chopped steak with mushroom and onion gravy. The roasted sweet potato with cinnamon and brown sugar was a tasty treat. There was a good dessert selection. Service was excellent.

Twice now I have called ""Dicks"" late on Friday afternoon to see if I can stop by after work and pick up a carry out dish or a frozen entree for my family. The first time I was told by a very young woman that she was leaving until the dinner service and - even though I was just around the corner - it would not be possible to stop in and today - I left a detailed message and my cell phone number - and - NO REPLY - NONE!! I know these folks are there - getting ready for the dinner service - why can't they let a customer stop by and BUY SOME DINNER!!!! Geez!! I am very very disappointed.

We brought a table full of moving volunteers over to Dick's on a recent Saturday. Everyone loved everything they ordered. Favorites were The Big Mess and the Onion Rings. Can't wait to eat breakfast there tomorrow and try dinner on a weekend soon!

Had fun taking visiting family members to Dicks for breakfast during the holiday week - everyone ordered different things - omelets - pancakes - eggs - salad (?) - and each person was happy with their meal. Plenty of food on each plate - no one went hungry - and prepared just right - how in the world do they make those biscuits? They have to be four or five inches tall - and so light and fluffy - great place - never a disappointment!!

We have never had a bad meal - or anything, from Dick's.
The last visit was a Sunday at noon and we were in a hurry to be done and go to a wedding.
No problem.
The order was taken efficiently and with courtesy and accommodating.
I wanted a chicken fried steak sandwich - there was not one on the menu. They have chicken friend steak, they have buns and they have lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. You put all of that together and you have a chicken fried steak sandwich - no problem.
The fries were hot and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.
We will be going back - and I want to also try their casseroles to go.

It was our first visit and we are new to the area - what a wonderful breakfast!! What a nice crew of folks and delicious food too!! My hubby couldn't finish his entire ""mess"" that he ordered and I had trouble getting through the regular #1 breakfast. Great place - we will go back for more breakfasts and for lunch too!! Highly recommend!!

Dick's has become my favorite place to eat since my grandmother's kitchen. Every visit, every interaction with the staff and owners, every bite of food has been like a trip back to my childhood.

I don't think it's possible for bacon to taste any better anywhere and the sugar-free pies made the recent holidays greater treats than they already were.

And, when it comes to feeling welcome, the wait-staff and the cooks all seem to be simply extensions of Dick and Teril, the warmest and most pleasant owners you could imagine.

My family has never had a complaint about the excellent food and Dick's has become our first choice in eating out.

As a frequent diner at Dick's, I have become a big fan of their food and especially their hamburger and fries. I have yet to get anything from their menu that was not really tasty. In addition to the good food the staff is the most friendly of any cafe I have ever been to in the last 5o years. I only wish their hours included evenings.

Seniors would be well advised to check out Dick's as they seem to reconogize us older folks!

Lastly Dick's has been very, very clean at all of my visits (that includes their restrooms).
